Prospectra connects Nigerian students to quality SIWES and IT internship placements — with real companies, real mentorship, and connections that last a lifetime.
SIWES — the Students Industrial Work Experience Scheme — was designed with a genuinely good purpose. It was supposed to be the bridge between classroom theory and real professional life.
But somewhere between the idea and the execution, it broke. Students spend weeks chasing placements, walking into company offices uninvited, begging for a spot. When they finally get one, many end up making photocopies and running errands.
They fill the logbooks. They serve the months. And they graduate having experienced almost nothing of what their field actually demands.
This is not a willpower problem. This is a system problem — and Prospectra exists to fix it.
Students without industry contacts scramble for any company that will take them. Placement quality becomes an accident of who you know, not what you've studied.
Interns are handed irrelevant tasks or ignored entirely. Companies have no structured plan. Students have no way to know what they're walking into before it's too late.
The few quality companies accepting SIWES students are concentrated in three cities. Students from other states face a harder, more expensive, and more competitive search.
There's no lasting professional bond built. No mentorship that continues. No thread that connects a student's internship experience to their career, even when the company genuinely liked them.
We're not just a job board. Prospectra creates a structured, transparent, and lasting ecosystem where students find the right placements, and companies build the talent pipelines they've always needed.
Students are matched to placements based on their course, state, skill level, and goals — not just whoever picks up the phone first.
Every company on Prospectra is verified. Students can see real reviews from past interns, what tasks they'll actually do, and what they'll walk away knowing.
The relationship doesn't end when the placement does. Students and supervisors stay connected on Prospectra — building the long-term career network that changes trajectories.
Students build a proper professional presence — course, skills, past experience — before they even graduate. Companies recruit from this pool directly.
Companies earn a transparency score based on intern feedback. Students know what they're walking into. Bad actors don't survive the ecosystem.
IT coordinators and departments can track their students' placements, monitor progress, and manage documentation — all in one place, without the usual chaos.
Prospectra works for students and companies simultaneously — because solving only one side of this equation doesn't actually solve anything.
Set up your student profile with your course, institution, skills, and the kind of placement you're looking for. Takes less than 10 minutes.
See placements matched to your course and location. Read real reviews from past interns. Apply with one click using your Prospectra profile.
Your placement is tracked on the platform — tasks, feedback, logbook references, and supervisor communication all in one place.
After your placement, stay connected to your supervisors and colleagues. The professional relationship lives on, and so does the opportunity.
Create your company profile and list what kind of interns you're looking for — field, skills, duration, and what they'll actually work on.
No more random walk-ins or emails from unrelated fields. You receive applications from students who are course-relevant and genuinely interested.
Manage your interns from one dashboard. Assign tasks, leave feedback, and build your company's reputation as a quality placement destination.
The best placements turn into hires. Prospectra gives you first access to the talent you've already trained and already trust.
SIWES was created with a genuinely important mandate — to close the gap between what students learn and what the real world demands. That mandate still matters. We believe in it.
Prospectra doesn't exist to replace the system. It exists to make the system actually work — for every student, not just the ones with connections.
Because a student who gets the right placement doesn't just write a better logbook. They graduate with skills, a professional identity, and relationships that open doors their degree alone never would.
That's the future we're building. One real placement at a time.
Prospectra is being built by a small, focused team of builders who've lived the Nigerian student experience — and refused to accept that it has to stay this broken.
Benjamin runs ADEBLED Services, a business focused on web development, IT solutions, and digital services. He also works in IT support at AQskill, helping people learn and grow through technology. Passionate about building useful digital solutions, he creates websites, SaaS platforms, and online tools designed to solve real-world problems. The idea for Prospectra came from seeing many Nigerian students complete their SIWES programs without gaining meaningful experience, direction, or opportunities afterward. Instead of accepting the problem, he decided to build a solution that could help students get better access to internships, growth, and career opportunities.
If you care deeply about the Nigerian student experience and want to help build the platform that fixes it, we'd love to hear from you.
